Daniel Bye, ARC Stockton and One Tenth Human present:
Arthur
a solo-and-a-half show written and performed by Daniel Bye
direction and dramaturgy by Sarah Punshon
Hi
thank you for buying a ticket to Arthur (the show). Arthur (the baby) looks forward to meeting you all. And so do I.
There now follows some information, and some questions. Apologies for the fact that this is quite long. Hopefully it's clear.
Here we go.
Telling me where to come:
The ticket you have bought entitles you to host a performance of the show in your home. But how will I know where it is?
In order to confirm the performance location, it is necessary for you to share your address with me. Once you've read the rest of this message, please share your address with me by replying to the email address below. As well as the address at which the performance is to take place, please also include in your email the date and time of the performance you've purchased. It's all very well knowing where to come, but it's no use if I don't know when I'm supposed to be there.
It would be helpful if you could also share a telephone number on which I can reach you on the day, if I get lost for example. It is not necessary for you to do this, and it's up to you. But it would be helpful. And I won't give your number to anyone else (GDPR! GDPR!)
Additional tickets:
Your purchase allows you and up to nine of your friends and family to come along to the performance. Ten people in total. If you have room for more people, feel free to let them in at the cost of an additional £10 per person. This additional £10/person is payable in cash when I arrive on the day.
There is no theoretical limit to the number of people you may invite; if you live in a castle then perhaps you'll bring hundreds and that will be a very lucrative performance. But there does need to be room for everyone to sit, lean, or perch - and to exit safely in the event of an emergency.
Don't save a chair, stool, or shelf for me: I'll sit on the floor. Arthur needs a bit of floor space too, although he's not very big, so I wouldn't worry about that.
Health and safety bit:
I am legally required to perform a safety check before the performance can commence and if I consider numbers to be unsafe then I reserve the right to cancel the performance for safety reasons, or to require numbers to be reduced. I don't want to cancel performances and will only do so in extreme cases. Please contact me via the means below if you are unsure or have any concerns.
Please also note that Arthur would be very grateful if you didn't smoke in the room during the performance, and ideally for at least a day before the performance. Also please put your cat and any other free-roaming animals in the next room.
The final thing we need from you in your email is confirmation that you've read and understood the above.
So that's:
- date and time of the performance you've booked
- address at which the performance is to take place
- telephone number on which we can get you on the day (optional, but recommended)
- number of people who'll be attending the performance, if the number is above ten
- confirmation that you've read and understood the health and safety bit
Send all that to us at [email protected]. If you have any questions you can also call on 07547 202715.
Arthur looks forward to meeting you all. And so do I.
